Endorsement Information for Candidates - November 2020

The San Mateo County Democratic Party (also known as the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee, or SMC DCC) invites Democrats running for county, city, or school district office in San Mateo County to apply for the Democratic Party endorsement for the November 2020 election.

All candidates who are considering an endorsement should first review the Endorsement Process document. You can view a recording of our 2020 candidate orientation here (approximately 1 hour in length. If you have trouble viewing the recording, please email [email protected] for assistance). Please note that due to the number of races taking place in November 2020, we will only be considering races for city/town council, school boards and Harbor District.

Eligible applicants will be scheduled for an interview on August 29th or August 30th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM via Zoom. Please keep these dates open for your interview. If you have not received an email confirming the date, time and location of your interview by August 26, 2020, email [email protected] with a CC to [email protected]Interviews will be conducted by members of the Endorsement Committee and Interview Team.

It is our job to recruit, mentor, support, and elect good Democrats. And we take great pride in the large numbers of our endorsed candidates that are elected and measures passed. In addition, we like to get to know and build relationships with these individuals as they serve in these important elected positions. It is the backbone of why we exist as a County Democratic Party.

If you have any questions during this process, please contact the Endorsement Committee leadership:

Nicole Fernandez, SMCDCC Chair: [email protected]
