April 2016 Chairs Letter

CHAIR'S APRIL 2016 MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

Although it's April Fools Day..this Election 2016 is no joke! This is THE ELECTION OF OUR GENERATION!

In this month's newsletter, I'm asking...what are you doing to get DEMS elected?

Attending rallies? Making Calls? Walking precincts? Donating money or time? Telling your friends? Using Social Media? Or ALL OF THOSE? We must be aggressive in the coming months.

The pundits are predicting a record turnout for the GOP here. We can't let them take hold again in our state. Their dysfunction has no place here in California.

And, across the United States there are several races that could be won by Dems with support from us! Be prepared to create a BLUE TIDALWAVE!

OUR NEXT GENERAL MEETING IS APRIL 21ST AT 7:30PM

Our San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee (SMC DCC ) elections always coincide with the Presidential Primary election every four years.  The ELECTION is June 7th, 2016.

Jeffrey --

California's harsh criminal sentencing punishes communities, not just offenders. That's why California Democrats support the Public Safety and Rehabilitation Act to stop the revolving door of incarceration.

CA Public Safety + Rehabilitation

Will you join Governor Brown by helping to collect signatures to qualify the Public Safety and Rehabilitation Act for the November ballot?

Governor Brown will be in Oakland with faith and community leaders on Sunday, April 3, for a volunteer signature-gathering drive.

"California's penal code has become utterly counterproductive and a far cry from a fair and effective system of criminal justice," said Governor Brown.

Can you join Governor Brown and Oakland faith and community leaders on Sunday, April 3, at 1 P.M.?

ALL OUR STANDING COMMITTEES ARE WORKING HARD!

MANY THANKS to our new CHAIR OF MEMBERSHIP CECILY HARRIS! She will be promoting new members everywhere she goes!

REMEMBER...ANY DEMOCRATS IN SAN MATEO COUNTY WHO REGISTERS AS AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER CAN SERVE ON A COMMITTEE AND CAN BE ELEGIBLE TO BE ASSIGNED A PROXY VOTER AT CONVENTIONS!          JOIN NOW!

Getting and Staying Involved

Interaction and building of all our current Democratic Clubs is a priority. Regular reports, inviting club membership to our monthly meetings, and encouraging them to join a committee or become an alternate/associate member is important for all of us. The more, the merrier! With our newly chartered  Latina/o Club and a newer club being introduced at our next meeting, we are growing stronger! Keep it up!

Another great way to support the party on a state level is to join DEM2016. *** DONATE EVERY MONTH... A one time contribution or monthly is a simple, easy great way to help keep the party strong all over California!

I want to remind everyone that as elected members of the Central Committee, it is our responsibility to be representatives of Democratic values to the people of our County--helping to educate and guide them and finding and promoting Democratic candidates at all levels of service to our community. This year’s board or associate members could become the next city council person, supervisor, assemblymember, or senator.

There are many ways to get involved with the San Mateo County Democratic Party and we invite all local Democrats to support their Party by volunteering. Please take a look at our Web page, Facebook, or Twitter to keep abreast of events or issues that may be of interest. Make sure when you’re participating in a Democratic event that you use social media to get the word out. Make everyone want to be where you are!

Help me in inviting all local Democrats to join us in keeping San Mateo County BLUE!
Democratically Yours,

Jeffrey Adair
