Chair's Letter - December 2014

It's the Holiday Season and time to celebrate a year of victories and hard work.

To mark the occasion the San Mateo County Democratic Party will be hosting our annual Holiday Party on December 11 in lieu of our regular meeting.

The Holiday Party will begin at 7 pm and be held at our usual venue, the neighborhood clubhouse located at 1117 Lord Ivelson Lane in Foster City. MAP

Everyone is invited and asked to bring a potluck dish to share. Drinks and desserts will be provided.

In addition, we will be collecting unwrapped toys for the Bayshore Child Care Services Center in Daly City. Toys or cash donations are most welcome.

ASSEMBLY DISTRICT ELECTIONS

Open elections for local Democrats interested in becoming a delegate to the California Democratic Party State Convention will be held on Saturday January 10 and Sunday January 11, 2015, where 14 people (7 men / 7 women) from each Assembly District will be elected to represent their district as DSCC (Democratic State Central Committee) Delegates for both the 2015 and 2016 State Conventions.

Each Assembly District will also elect Assembly District Executive Board representatives ("EBd Reps") from among the 14 delegates.

This is an excellent opportunity for local Democrats to get involved in the Party and attend a CDP Convention as a voting delegate.

A person may only participate in the ADEM if he/she is a Democrat residing in and registered to vote by the October 20, 2014, voter registration deadline, in the Assembly District they wish to represent, unless the person turned 18 or was a naturalized after the deadline, and is registered or registers onsite.

ELECTION SUCCESS

This past election season the San Mateo County Democratic Party supported many candidates and measures with great success. We thank all of the candidates and volunteers who put themselves forward and volunteered their time and energy. This year, many quality incumbents were re-elected and many new officeholders are beginning their public service as a result our collective efforts. Congratulations to all.

Now it is time to celebrate and reflect on our success.

In the coming months, we will prepare for the elections and challenges ahead. We invite all local Democrats to join us in keeping San Mateo County blue.

Happy Holidays.

Democratically Yours,

David Burruto

Chair
