Chair's Letter - February 2014

Subject: Convention Bound!

February 03, 2013

Dear Friends:

The Spring of 2014 promises to be a busy one.

The State Convention of California Democratic Party is next month in Los Angeles where delegates will consider endorsements on at least two propositions that will appear on the June 2014 ballot. For more details on those, visit the California Secretary of State's Web site here.

For local CDP delegates, registration for the convention remains open through the CDP Web site.

The San Mateo County Democratic Party will host our annual Convention luncheon on Saturday, March 8. For details and to buy a ticket to the luncheon please visit the luncheon site here.

For local delegates unable to attend the CDP Convention, please consider providing a proxy to another local Democrat who may wish to attend. Proxy forms and other details are available on the CDP Web site.

STATE AND LOCAL ELECTIONS

The lead up to June will feature a variety of state and local campaigns of interest to Democrats. The San Mateo County Democratic Party will be hosting a variety of events in the coming months featuring candidates and representatives of ballot campaigns to help Democrats understand the issues and meet the candidates. Keep an eye for those events.

VOTER REGISTRATION

In addition to working in support of Democratic candidates in advance of the November General Election, the San Mateo County Democratic Party is sponsoring a vigorous voter registration effort throughout the county.

The Party will have booths at many events in local communities but will also train interested volunteers in doing voter registration at other public sites.

Interested volunteers should contact the Party at [email protected].

The year ahead will be exciting and as always there remains much work to do as we prepare for the next elections and we invite all San Mateo County Democrats to participate in upcoming events and efforts to keep San Mateo County blue.

Democratically Yours,
David Burruto
Chair
