Volunteer Recruitment Challenge & Yes on Prop. 47 Presentation

The San Mateo County Democrats are inviting Central Committee members and anyone else from the community to come to a pair of great events on Thursday, September 18.

At 6:00pm, we'll be hosting an SMC Democratic Central Committee Challenge. You're invited to come down to the new SMC Dems Campaign Headquarters and make recruitment calls to our past volunteers. These are the easiest calls you will ever make. We are calling our friends and past volunteers to ask them to help again this year. The contest will end at 7:30pm and we'll have prizes for the person who makes the most calls and recruits the most volunteers.

At 7:30pm, we'll be hear a presentation about the Yes on Proposition 47 campaign. Milena Blake will be our guest and she will give us information about this important initiative which has been endorsed by the California Democratic Party and the San Mateo County Democratic Party.

A brief description from the campaign website, SafetyandSchools.com:

"It's a simple and common-sense idea, but a powerful one. This reform will improve public safety, reduce prison spending and invest hundreds of millions in K-12 schools, victim services, and mental health and drug treatment."

This event will take place in lieu of the regular September General Meeting, which has been moved to the regularly-scheduled General Meeting date on October 16.

Please contact our campaign manager, April Vargas for more information. You can RSVP here or on Facebook.

We hope to see you then!
