Join us at the lovely home of Sister District Co-Captain Lisa Diaz Nash for a stimulating IN PERSON OUTDOOR evening when we'll get to hear directly from our California state legislators State Senator Josh Becker and Assemblyman Kevin Mullin about the latest from the just-finished Sacramento legislative session, the recall election, and the importance of state legislative races in Virginia.

Delicious Mediterranean food, daiquiris, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks will be served.

This event is a fundraiser for Delegate Nancy Guy, one of the fantastic candidates we are supporting for the House of Delegates in VA in the November 2021 election. Nancy is an incumbent representing the 83rd District. She is passionate about public education and a strong advocate for the environment. During her tenure in the State Legislature, Delegate Nancy Guy has patroned various pieces of legislation including a bill that bans the release of non-biodegradable balloons and bills that limit the cost of insulin and prohibit discrimination against members of the LGBTQ community. In her role on the Courts of Justice committee, Delegate Guy has been an essential figure in passing transformative criminal justice reforms in Virginia this year, including the legalization of marijuana and abolishment of the death penalty. She has also worked with the Democratic majority to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. They have also expanded medicaid to hundreds of thousands of residents and raised the state’s minimum wage to $15 per hour.

Our support of Delegate Nancy Guy is critical to ensuring Virginia continues to lead the way in the South for a more progressive future.

COVID Information: In the interest of everyone's health and safety given the current risks posed by the Delta variant, only those who are fully vaccinated will be allowed to attend the event. We will be asking all attendees to show proof of vaccination. If you are not fully vaccinated or you are not feeling well on the day of the event, we ask that you attend the event via Zoom. This event will be entirely outside, so please dress accordingly. Per County guidelines, masks are not required outside, but you are certainly welcome to wear one.
