2022 is a pivotal year for our country and we’re going to do everything we can so we don’t allow the Big Lie, voter disenfranchisement, and gerrymandering to destroy our democracy.
Activist and progressive groups, Democratic clubs, and volunteers from all over the Bay Area have come together to form the Bay Area Coalition (BAC). This mobilizing powerhouse is made up of thousands of volunteers and we want you to join the fight.
To kick off this year, we’ve invited Steven Rosenfeld, former NPR journalist, and author, covering voting rights and election administration for Voting Booth, a project of the non-profit Independent Media Institute. He's written several books on U.S. elections, including 'Democracy Betrayed,' about the anti-democratic features of the 2016 presidential election.
We’re also going to hear from our very own, US Senator Alex Padilla who is the first Latino to represent California in the US Senate’s history. Appointed by Gov Gavin Newsom in 2021, Senator Alex Padilla has fought for everyday Americans in Washington, DC.
And, we will share with you the 2022 organizing strategy: Voter Registration, Voter Education, and Voter Turnout in key races in California and beyond.
Lastly, Kathi Walsh, behavioral nurse and voter communication trainer, will hold a training on “How to Talk to Voters” because, really, isn’t that what this is all about?
