2023 SMC Dems CADEM Convention Luncheon

 

We are excited to gather during the upcoming CADEM Convention for lunch at 11:45 AM at El Cholo, 1037 S. Flower St. in Los Angeles.

Capacity is limited to 50 attendees, so buy your ticket and/or become a sponsor as soon as possible.

We hope you can take a lunch break to spend time catching up with fellow Dems and to hear from local elected officials and candidates in the upcoming 2022 Primary and General Election.

November 2022 Endorsement Application for Candidates

The San Mateo County Democratic Party (SMCDems) invites Democrats running for city council, school district office, harbor district, or open space district in San Mateo County to apply for the Democratic Party endorsement for the November 2022 election.

All candidates who are considering an endorsement should first review the Endorsement Process documentYou can register to attend an overview of the process on Thursday August 4th at 7 PM here.

To apply for the SMCDem Endorsement, please fill out the questionnaire here. The questionnaire cannot be changed or revised after submitted. It must be completed in one sitting.  Applications for most races are due on Monday, August 15th at 10 PM.  For races in which the filing date was extended until August 17th, the deadline submitting an application for the SMCDems endorsement is also extended to Saturday, August 20th at 10 PM.

You may want to download the questions, answer them during a couple of sittings in Word and then copy and paste into the online application after you have answered all questions. Please do not send additional documents, resumes, flyers or endorsement letters.

The San Mateo County Democratic Party (also known as the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee, or SMC DCC) invites Democrats running for county, city, or school district office in San Mateo County to apply for the Democratic Party endorsement for the November 2019 election.

All candidates who are considering an endorsement should first review the Endorsement Process document:

Process Explanation

After reviewing the document candidates who seek the party’s endorsement must complete the online application form available here. The application must be submitted electronically by the deadline of 10:00 pm on August 14, 2019. Candidates may prepare their answers using this Word version of the formSubmissions must still be made via the electronic form. The Word document is an aid to help in preparing answers only.

 

SMCDCC is holding a Candidate Orientation Program to review this process and answer questions on August 8. Specific time and place TBD.

Important Dates

  • July 15- Aug. 9 - Candidates pull papers, gather signatures to qualify for the ballot
  • July 22- Candidate application and questionnaire on web site
  • August 8- Candidate Orientation Program
  • August 9- Filing Deadline (Incumbents have until August 14 if no incumbents file)
  • August 14– Candidate applications and written questionnaires are due by 10 PM
  • August 28-29 – candidate interviews (other dates may be added)
  • September 5 – Central Committee meets to vote on recommendations

Elected Member Dues

  • Yearly dues for elected/appointed voting members of the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee are $70.
  • Optionally, dues can be paid in two installments of $35 each.
  • Dues must be paid by the member themselves.
